Vail Resorts: Real Estate Counsel (Vail, CO) | Hispanic National Bar ...

This Real Estate Counsel position will support the real estate development business of Vail Resorts Development Company (?VRDC?), a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded Vail Resorts, Inc. The successful candidate will be a skilled negotiator and drafter of a wide range of real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, condominium declarations, easements, covenants, deed, commercial leases, construction contracts, development agreements and other real estate related agreements. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience and will have the maturity and poise to handle competing priorities, communicate confidently and articulately with business clients and thrive in a fast paced environment.

???????? Negotiation and drafting of a wide range of real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, condominium declarations, easements, covenants, deeds, commercial leases, listing agreements, development agreements and other real estate related agreements

???????? Negotiation and drafting of various types of design and construction contracts

???????? Responsible for providing legal guidance for Colorado and California real estate development activities

???????? Assist in managing homeowner associations and other non-profit entities, including reviewing compliance with legal requirements

???????? Assist in advocating the company?s position on land use approvals and issues to government entities

???????? Assist with federal and state registrations of various real estate projects; provide guidance on sale and marketing of real estate in compliance with federal and state requirements

???????? Provide advice and guidance to the real estate marketing group to ensure compliance with legal requirements

???????? Management of outside counsel in connection with major projects

???????? Work collaboratively and professionally with all members of the Legal Department, business unit staff, and outside vendors/suppliers/third parties

???????? Adhere to and support standards and goals of the Legal Department

???????? Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

???????? Bachelor?s degree required

???????? JD from top tier accredited law school

???????? Minimum 4 years experience in for-profit or government arena negotiating and documenting real estate transactions and handling land use issues.

???????? In depth knowledge of Colorado land use laws and regulatory processes.

???????? Active bar license, CO preferred
???????? High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

???????? Ability to learn and work with new software systems

???????? Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette
???????? Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions

???????? Ability to work under high pressure conditions and to successfully handle stressful situations efficiently, professionally and effectively

???????? Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, in-house attorneys, and members of the various business units

???????? Must be able to explain and interpret contract terms and conditions and real estate documents in order to provide advice and interpretation that is both practical and legally acceptable, taking into account the needs and objectives of the business
